Why Combat Boots Are Making A Comeback!
Not only because they're awesome... They're also functional.
You may remember the early 90's love affair with Doc Martens, paired with flannel, oh the flannel. Today we have certainly seen a resurgence of plaid amongst the trendy cool kids, however there was a delay on our sturdy and beloved boots. Doc Martens, Wolverines, Rockfords, the Krause, each pair a demonstration of the beauty of simplicity and masculinity.
Combat boots are comfortable, durable and have some serious history. Traditionally they were used by the military, constructed of leather and laces, crafted for the soldiers in harsh environments. They now find themselves on the feet of everyday men and women, with some minor changes.
Okay I get it, but how do I wear them?
Consider wearing a dark brown overcoat and navy jeans to look classy but not particularly formal. A pair of dark brown leather brogue boots will seamlessly integrate within a variety of outfits.
Swap your traditional black boots for combat ones with dark denim (complete with a couple of cuffs or tucked directly into the boot), a vintage tee and a tailored peacoat gives you a sophisticated edgy look without going over board.
The key to combat boots is balance, if your boots are heavy, keep the rest of your outfit slim.
